Compact Desk Fan

This deluxe fan has a more compact base than the MiniMax (measuring 3" deep × 5½" wide × 8¼" high), and an infinitely-adjustable electronic speed control. Quiet and efficient, it has a 4½" finger-safe blade with no grille. Works on 4 D batteries (not included) for up to 300 hours depending on speed—300 hours is for a low speed. AC adapter (120V) included. Battery-save feature automatically turns fan off after 4 hours. Really great for home or office, but not ideal for carrying in suitcases or handbags, due to its easy turn-on with a slight touch on the on-off button. Air direction is adjustable from slightly less than horizontal, to nearly straight up.

Battery-operated fans are especially good for patients who are hospitalized. There is nothing like being able to create a breeze when you are overheated and the nurse can do nothing to help you. Don't bring an AC adapter to the hospital. Hospitals have electrical requirements that encourage battery use on almost everything.

For hospital stays, the Desk Fan is slightly better than the MiniMax for setting on a bedside table, due to the lower angle of air direction that is possible, and the smaller base. The Desk Fan is made in Canada.
